YOUR GUIDE TO EATING, DRINKING AND SIGHTSEEING IN EDINBURGH FOR 48 HOURS
Where To Stay - Native Edinburgh
74-77 Queen St, Edinburgh EH2 4NF
Planning this from the place I always recommend people stay - Native , it’s an aparthotel and it’s very central. You have your own kitchen, so if you get stuck you can eat in the apartment (but honestly that’s never a problem in Edinburgh and you’re not adding to the issues that Air Bnb’s have caused within the city.
DAY 1
First breakfast has to be at Greenwoods, very close to the hotel and you’re going to be doing a lot of walking so why not get a FEAST
Walk up to town and have a wander through Princess Street Gardens and have a look at the castle
Exit the gardens near Castle Terrace and swing up into Old Town with a cake stop at L'Etoile Salon de Tea from there you can walk down the Grass Market and visit the National Museum of Scotland
Then grab yourself a savoury crepe from Tupi and walk across the meadows
If you’d like a coffee after eating I’d recommend stopping by Cult Espresso before meandering back across town
But if you’d prefer wine why not swing past Brauhaus before it’s time for dinner
For your first dinner why not treat yourself to dinner at Edinburgh’s Gluten Free Taproom Bellfield - if you want to stay central though I’d recommend BABA.
DAY 2
No trip to Edinburgh is complete without a breakfast at Salt, so grab yourself a coffee from The Lowdown and head up to Salt.
Once you’re over that side of town you need a visit to Edinburgh’s number 1 gluten free cake destination Sugar Daddys, pick up 1 or 4 cakes and if you’re wanting a savoury treat to take away I love their toasties (onion bhaji is my favourite and is also vegan
We’ve got a bit of walk now but why not swing over to the National Portrait Gallery, it’s beautiful and free
And then wander to the Botanic Gardens - it really is a MUST visit
Why not take a stroll through Stockbridge, grab a coffee from Fortitude and then check out Treen - one of my favourite Edinburgh shops
Might be time now for a quick refresh now at the hotel before heading out for the evening
Grab yourself some natural wines and small plates at Spry wines, if you want to see something really special try and catch the sunset at Calton Hill
And then if you’re up for a giant carb fest, why not swing down Leith Walk to Origano for a giant gluten free pizza
Thank you for checking out my 48 hours in Edinburgh gluten free guide, enjoy your trip!
